Internal tooling debt compounds faster than product debt. Every manual ops step, every Slack-based approval flow, every spreadsheet-backed process is a tax on engineering throughput. We've built internal platforms that consolidated 12 separate tools into one coherent ops layer, cut onboarding time from 3 days to 4 hours, and eliminated an entire category of ops escalations.
Observability is infrastructure, not a vendor subscription. We've built custom telemetry pipelines on top of OpenTelemetry, ClickHouse, and Grafana that give engineering teams full distributed tracing, service-level dashboards, and error budget tracking at a fraction of Datadog costs. You own the data. You set the retention. No per-seat pricing.
Developer experience is measurable. Deployment frequency, lead time for changes, mean time to recovery, change failure rate. We instrument the DORA metrics, build the dashboards, and then build the tooling that actually moves the numbers. DORA INSTRUMENTATION
DORA metrics instrumentation contract
We instrument the four DORA metrics with explicit definitions so the dashboard means the same thing every quarter. No vendor-defined formulas. Source events come from git, CI, and the incident system, joined in ClickHouse. The contract is published so anyone can replay the numbers and a new tool can ship without breaking the trend line.
