Avo uses Twilio for SMS notifications on demo bookings and call alerts for the sales workflow.
HOW WE USE IT
Twilio handles outbound SMS for time-sensitive notifications in the Avo workflow and in client builds that need it. The primary use case for Avo internally is demo booking confirmations. When a prospect books a discovery call through the calendar integration, a Twilio SMS fires to the prospect within seconds of booking. This reduces no-show rates on calls where the prospect books and then forgets.
A second use case is call prep alerts. Fifteen minutes before a scheduled sales call, an internal SMS fires with the prospect's company name, size, and recent email thread context. This is a simple cron-triggered Twilio REST API call rather than a full SMS platform integration.
For client work, Twilio appears most often in logistics-adjacent SaaS builds where end users need real-time status updates that do not require app installs. Delivery confirmations, appointment reminders, and support ticket status changes are the common patterns. The integration is always the Twilio REST API directly. Avo does not use Twilio Studio or programmatic voice for these use cases.
Twilio Verify has been used in one client project for two-factor authentication on a financial data dashboard, using the SMS channel for the OTP delivery.
